It was a warm day for October and it was extremely windy. It was difficult keeping the materials at registration from blowing away. We had 61 participants and 36 starts. The courses seemed to work out well as there were very few DNFs. There was one challenge as the pick-up crew had to deal with some heavy rain.

Kim Stewart was a first-time event director. She designed five courses: Beginner (1.9 km), Novice (3.4 km), Intermediate (4.9 km), Advanced Short (3.5 km) and Advanced Long (7.9 km). We had a reasonable number of starts in each of the courses. Although a few people mentioned the difficulty in finding a couple controls (something we knew would happen ahead of time), everyone seemed pleased with the courses overall.

A special note about Christina Traynor. She is the only person to try two courses. She finished first on the Intermediate course and then tried the Advanced Long (her first time trying that level). Although she didn't finish the second course, she did get a taste of what advanced orienteering is like.
