Initialize Regular Event Preregistration Files
(plus Cancellation and Potluck Gathering Files)


Use this page to initialize one or more preregistration files for regular events. The menu below lets you select which file is to be initialized by the name of the mapped area. Initialization should be done at the beginning of the year or when an event is put on the schedule for a particular area. The initial contents of any preregistration file is a single line containing the following header:
Last Name,First Name,How Many,Course,SI Card,Minor,Where Found,Date,Help!\n

When you initialize an event preregistration file, the corresponding volunteer sign-up file is also initialized. The initial contents of a volunteer sign-up file is a single line containing the following header:
Name*Shift*Preferred Task*Pick Up*Email*Date!\n

The cancellation file which holds canceled preregistrations must be initialized at the beginning of the year. The cancellation file holds cancellations from all regular events during a year. The initial contents of the cancellation file is the following header line:
Last Name,First Name,Event Location,How Many,!\n

The potluck gathering file contains information about what people are bringing to the potluck meal at the last event of the year. It must be initialized before people start signing up for the potluck meal. The initial contents of this file is the following header line:
Name*Number of People*Bringing What Food*Date*!\n

You must provide the password to initialize.
