Orienteering Meet
There was a cold wind blowing much of the day; but eventually the
temperature did make it to about 60. It was a pretty good day for
orienteering; we had 36 starts with 84 participants. The overcast
weather may have kept some people away as 17 people/groups who
preregistered did not show up.
This was a 2-hour score course with controls set at all skill levels.
It was anticipated that a couple of our fastest orienteers would
clear the course fairly easily; however, the only group to clear it was
also 107 minutes late. A couple of other club members made some
time management or navigation errors that prevented them from clearing.
Everyone seemed to have a good time and no one reported any
problems with the terrain or control placement.
